Visitor Services

A variety of user support services are available to classes and researchers visiting the Sweeney Granite Mountains Desert Research Center. Staff members are available to assist in plant and wildlife identification, recommend local “hot-spots” to observe rare or endemic plants and animals, and provide logistical support for visiting classes and researchers.

Facilities at the Research Center include telephone (calling card required), wireless internet access, 110 volt AC power, laboratory space, reference library, conference room with slide and LCD projectors, chalk and white boards, computers, herbarium and specimen collections, dissecting microscope, fax and copy machine, tractor with backhoe, and field supplies.
